A friend needed to transcribe recordings of monthly meetings for an association of architects. Three-hour recordings. I can't believe people used to do this manually.
She asked for help, so I put together a quick script to break the audio into chunks, transcribe it with some API calls, stitch it back together, and polish the edges. It took me about five seconds to get her file, transcribe it, and send it back. Then one time I was on holiday and couldn't access my laptop, so she got stuck. As soon as I got back, I turned that script into a light app and put it online behind a password for her to use.
